Forgiveness

I’ve been thinking a lot about forgiveness lately.  A recent PBS special really struck me.  The Amish program described the actions taken following the tragedy in Nickel Mines, PA in 2006.  If you’ve forgotten this story, a gunman near Lancaster shot ten young schoolgirls resulting in five of their deaths and then shot himself.  It was an absolute horror. Protector

Fathers are protectors.  I believe we are wired, just like mothers, to protect our family.  We would dive in front of a speeding bus to save our kid.  We would take a bullet if it meant our son or daughter would be spared.  I was reminded of this fact as I listened to the evening news yesterday.  There were two stories, both tragic, but both reminders of how far a father will go to protect his family.  The first is a story of a dad who...
